Author and rescuer Terry Masear is on a mission to save every injured hummingbird in Los Angeles. Terry confronts the most fragile patients through a volunteer hummingbird rescue, but the path to survival is fraught with uncertainty and drama. In Sally Aitken’s intimate and moving documentary, we are drawn into Terry’s hummingbird patients – including Cactus, Jimmy, Wasabi, Raisin, and Mikhail – as they celebrate their small victories and mourn their small tragedies. Through the eyes of America’s busiest bird rehabilitator, each bird becomes memorable, powerful, and heroic.
